Viking Ali Car Rentals - Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms of service carefully before using our platform. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
1. Acceptance of Terms
- By accessing or using the Viking Ali Car Rental platform, including our website and mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. Vehicle Rental
- Guests must meet the eligibility requirements set by Viking Ali Car Rentals to rent a vehicle.
- Age Requirement: a minimum of 21 years of age as of the current date of rental request. Guests under 30 years of age may be charged a Young Driver Fee and/or additional deposit as determined by the system.
- Valid Driver's License required and must pass/clear the Stripe Identity Verification process.
3. Booking and Payments
- Guests can browse available vehicles on the Viking Ali Car Rental platform and make bookings through our reservation system.
- Payments for vehicle rentals are processed securely through our platform. Viking Ali Car Rentals may charge service fees and taxes in addition to the rental cost.
- The name on the Credit or Debit card must match the driver's name on the Rental Agreement. Guests agree to adhere to the Payment Verification process conducted via email.
**3A. Additional Fees and Default Charges
- Non-Cleaning Fee: If the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring cleaning beyond normal wear and tear, a Non-Cleaning Violation Fee of $50 will be charged.
- Smoking Fee: If the vehicle is returned with any evidence of smoking, a $150 fee will be applied. The use of any smoking-related products inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited; including but not limited to: cigarettes, marijuana, vaping, any illegal drugs, etc. Violators will be immediately removed from the platform.
- Non-Refueling Fee: If the vehicle is returned without being refueled to the same fuel level as when received, a Non-Refueling Violation Fee of $50 may be charged.
- A charge for missing fuel plus a $10.00 Convenience Fee may be charged in lieu of the $50 Non-Refueling Violation Fee when fuel level is returned at a moderate level, as determined by Viking Ali Car Rentals.
- Late Return: There is no grace period on rental returns. If the vehicle is not returned by the agreed-upon drop-off time and location as specified in the contract, the following charges will apply:
- A fee of $1.00 per minute charged up to the first hour.
- The normal daily rental rate, plus applicable taxes and fees will be charged thereafter
- An additional default fee of $50 can be applied for excessive tardiness, at the sole discretion of Viking Ali Car Rentals.
- Key Fob Replacement Fee: If the vehicle's key fob is not returned at the end of the rental period, a replacement fee of $499 plus tax will be charged.
- Tollways or toll booths should not be traveled unless an add-on Toll Pass was paid in advance, at the time of booking. Accessing any Toll without paying for a prepaid Toll Pass will result in a per occurrence Toll Violation Fee of $5.00 per toll, which will be subtracted from your deposit immediately. Since it is required to maintain a $100 security deposit on the account at all times, Toll Violation Fees must be paid immediately to restore the deposit back to the minimum required amount when the deposit paid is $100 or less. Please note: Additional minimum deposit may be required by the system for instances of defaults and/or high-risk behaviors.
- In some instances, the cost of the actual Toll road is greater than the $5.00 Violation Fee, in which case, the Renter will be responsible for the greater amount.
- The Texas Toll Freedom Pass allows access to any Toll road in the state of Texas and must be paid in advance. The Texas Toll Freedom Pass does not activate retrospectively and is active based on the pickup and return time on the Rental Agreement.
- The Texas Toll Freedom Pass includes up to 10 tolls per calendar day, up to the total price of the pass. Any toll usage beyond this limit will be billed at the discounted rate of $1.50 per toll or the toll road's applicable rate, whichever is higher.
- Viking Ali Car Rentals does not provide refunds and/or prorations for unused tolls.
- Failure to pay Toll Violation Fees may result in additional fees and/or default fee, void of Rental Agreement, and/or removal from renting cars on our platform.
- Taking any Viking Ali vehicle outside of the state of Texas is strictly prohibited and will result in a default fee of $150 minimum in addition to immediate removal from our platform and block placed on any future booking requests.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- Guests may cancel their reservation up to 4 hours before the pickup time on the Rental Agreement. Cancellation fees may apply.
- Viking Ali Car Rentals may provide refunds to Guests in accordance with the cancellation policy and any applicable terms.
- Viking Ali Car Rentals may cancel reservations under certain circumstances and reserves the right to refund Guests or assist in finding alternative arrangements.
5. Insurance
- Guests are encouraged to upload their own personal insurance coverage, if applicable, but personal insurance is not required to rent one of our vehicles.
- Guests who do not provide their own personal insurance coverage will be charged a $10.00 Non-Insurance Fee, per day. Please note: The daily $10 Non-Insurance Fee can be waived if personal insurance can be verified.
- In the event of a claim, the guest will be responsible for a max out-of-pocket expense of up to $1000.
6. Liability
- Guests are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations regarding vehicle rental and usage.
- All traffic laws must be obeyed, including speed limits.
- For the comfort and safety of all our customers, pets are not permitted in our vehicles. Emotional support animals may be allowed but require prior approval during the booking process and before vehicle pick-up. Violations of this policy may result in additional fees, including cleaning and default charges.
7. Feedback and Reviews
- Guests may leave feedback, testimonials and reviews about their rental experience. Viking Ali Car Rentals may use this feedback to improve our platform and services.
8. Modifications to Terms
- Viking Ali Car Rentals reserves the right to modify these terms of service at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our platform. Continued use of our platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
9. Termination
- Viking Ali Car Rentals may suspend or terminate access to our platform for any user who violates these terms of service or engages in fraudulent or unlawful activities.
- Viking Ali Car Rentals reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to terminate a rental agreement and repossess our property if the renter violates our terms and conditions. Examples of such violations include but is not limited to: allowing unauthorized drivers access to the vehicle, being non-responsive, failure to pay outstanding charges including toll fees, extension payments, etc. or if new evidence shows that the vehicle or property was obtained under false pretenses or through a banned third party.
- Additionally, renters who engage in fraudulent activities to deceive us into renting a vehicle will be considered defaulted and cannot sue Viking Ali Car Rentals.
- If Repossession becomes necessary, a Vehicle Recovery Fee of $499 will be charged and due immediately.
10. Lost & Found Policy
- As an eCommerce platform, Viking Ali Car Rentals does not have a brick-and-mortar location. If belongings are found in vehicle, we can mail them via USPS with a tracking number at the lowest rate (or the Renter's preferred shipping method), plus a $35 Convenience Fee.
- Request for items must be submitted in writing via email to: support@vikingali.com Subject: Lost & Found Claims. Please include the address of where to ship items, along with the preferred shipping method.
- For rare instances where no address is available to have items mailed, the Renter may request to have items held for pickup. An additional fee of $25 will be required for this service (total of $60). The address and hours for pickup will be provided once request and payment is received.
- The renter is completely responsible for paying all fees including shipping costs. Payment to claim Lost & Found items must be received via Cash App or Zelle only. No credit card payments will be accepted for this service.
- Fees must be paid in advance or deducted from any remaining security deposit, if applicable. Please note: Viking Ali Car Rentals will subtract all incidental charges from the deposit first; such as mileage overages, unpaid tolls, late fees, pending insurance claims where the customer has not paid the required deductible, etc.
- Storage fees will apply to items not claimed within 48 hours. Viking Ali Car Rentals reserves the right to discard of any unclaimed items after 14 days of vehicle return.
11. Governing Law
- These terms of service are governed by the laws of Harris County, Texas without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
By using the Viking Ali Car Rentals platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms of service.
